As a neophyte to wine, I started keeping labels (and notes) in 1983 because I thought that's what one was supposed to do. As my wine column got more play nationally in the late 1980s and wineries and importers started sending me samples and as I was invited to more trade tastings and so on, it became impossible to keep labels. As this series progresses, then, it means that the label shots will disappear; I guess I'll have to draw pictures. I find it absolutely fascinating and amazing that you have such a complete record of what you've drank over the last 20-30 years. It's admirable and super neat that you've kept at it for so long, and with such detail. I hope that merely for the sake of looking back, that I have the same record for myself in 20 years time. This sounds tacky, but it's an inspiration! I just want to say that I think this series of posts is particularly interesting.
