A guy using words like “squib” and “a-weary” bitching about narrative on wine labels, narrative he seems to find contrived, if not precious? It is to laugh! Oh, the projection, it hurts my head. Which is not, I concede, bigger than yours. heh

Fredric, surely you don’t believe Quality and/or Value are the only paths to success? While Tempra Tantrum may miss the mark on both counts, it will surely find an audience. Just as Yellow Tail, Smoking Loon and the dozens of copy-cat wines have. Somebody is laughing all the way to the bank…

When I looked at the packaging I almost wanted to put on sunglasses or cover it in black ink to make the orange go away.

I can’t wait till you have a go at sacred words like “sustainable” and “biodynamic” (well you sort of did a while ago) and, oh, my very favourite of 2009: “natural wine.”

This wine is now being offered by the local Hannaford grocery. It’s a good chain and at least they’re offering it for $7.99 a bottle with some possibly tongue in cheek promotion (“great with: Pork chops with balsamic onions, grilled pepper steak, spicy sausage pizza and tapas”)which implies that iw will cut the grease and soothe a burnt tongue. For the more discerning buyer there’s a proper wine and liquor store next door.
