I&#039;ll add to your history lesson that the warrior Roman emperor, Probus, hated to see idle troops. He had them plant vineyards in the Mosel region in the 3rd century, before he moved east to plant vineyards in Hungary. 

After Probus, Trier became a Roman Emperor retreat outpost.</description>
