		<description>This is very interesting to me.  I do not believe an AOC is needed in CA, but in a way Spectator and Advocate are acting as a governing body.  The problem is they tend to give big scores to the Oak Infused Big Wines, and very little attention to well balanced &quot;simple&quot; wines with elegance.</description>

There are those Chardonnay makers who tout &quot;unoaked&quot; or &quot;virgin&quot; on their labels, but nobody ever inscribes the phrase &quot;more wood than a lumber yard&quot; on a bottle.</description>

All of a sudden, I&#039;ve been asked to re-sign up on your blog...

Anyway, I&#039;ve found that if I stay with European AOC wines, I can be (almost) assured that if there&#039;s oak, it will be within the confines of what it used to be.

Go with the &#039;modern&#039; European wines--or wannabe IGT, super this and super that--and you may be in for a few slivers in the tongue.

In America, forget it. Since we have no AOC traceable to production rules, we are on our own...</description>
