I recently attended 2 tastings at my fav wine store - medium buck Bordeaux' and Burgundies (50 to 120 bucks) I just have not found any of the latter to be that good - most are thin and astringent, lacking of fruit etc etc while even so so Bordeaux' are much more likeable! we did a tasting in Beaune while on tour of 14 burgundies and ended up buying none for the above reasons! other winery tastings yielded the same! some years ago I bought a mixed case of top Oregon pinots from K&L - pretty good wine but still not a fav for the money.

of late I found a Cambria Katherine pinot that was pretty good at 18 bucks and CH St Jean does a good job on a pinot at under 20 bucks

is there something wrong with my taster or do I need to really spend the bucks to get a good full bodied pinot as you and other experts so describe???

love your blog - very good job and interesting!! Dale
