		<description>Can someone tell me where Chateau Montelena chrdonnay fits in here? I recently saw a movie called Bottle Shock about how the Montelena Chaardonnay won against the French wines in the 70s...so I assume it&#039;s pretty good? I haven&#039;t picked up a bottle yet (just saw the movie the other day) but watching the movie made me want some! Are they still considered a good vinyard? Btw, this movie is a must see for all chardonnay lovers....check out the trailer at www.bottleshockthemovie.com.</description>

		<description>I chalk it up to learning--California winemakers are finally learning something about Chardonnay: that it can be easily molded into something it is not, and that what it is can be as or more interesting that what it is not.

Still, I long ago decided the variety is rather dimensionally limited, and I suppose that is why it&#039;s been the whipping boy for oak and ML freaks!</description>

Some might insist that it&#039;s instead a cynical effort to put the best face on not paying for European oak barrels. I don&#039;t discount that, but at the same time the rising number of non-malolactic chardonnays also indicates a renewed appreciation of more structured, less extravagant wines.</description>
